Extended HLA allele coverage facilitating identification of HLA-specific antibodies and epitope-level patterns of antibody reactivity.
Allelic-level HLA typing of donors and recipients is now commonplace across solid organ as well as stem cell transplantation. This provides opportunity to define HLA antibodies to a greater degree, aiding in more nuanced transplant decision making particularly amongst highly sensitised patients with reduced chance of transplant. The increased breadth of allele coverage provided by the LABScreen™ Single Antigen Supplement assay increases the number of patients who can benefit from allelic and epitope-level assessment of donor-recipient immunological compatibility with the aim of effecting better clinical outcomes.
The LABScreen™ Single Antigen Supplement assay builds upon the widely used LABScreen™ Single Antigen assay. HLA antibody detection coverage is expanded with the addition of 54 HLA Class I and 24 HLA Class II Single Antigen beads.
- Paired with the standard panel, allele coverage increases to 151 Class I and 119 Class II common and well-documented (CWD) alleles, providing better representation of diverse communities.
- Complements high-resolution donor HLA typing when identifying donor specific antibodies in both pre-transplant crossmatching (virtual or wet) and post-transplant scenarios.
- Increased breadth of epitope coverage facilitates and increases confidence in epitope-based analysis.
Additional HLA allele coverage

Workflow summary:
- Familiar LABScreen laboratory workflow.
- Acquisition and reading by the LABScan100™ (Luminex 200) or LABScan3D™ instrument.
- Users of the LABScan3D™ instrument can benefit from extended multiplexing capability using the LABScreen Single Antigen ExPlex panels for single-well set-up, providing ease and flexibility.
- Analysis in HLA Fusion™ software (combined or separately) with inbuilt HLA Matchmaker, Epitope Panel and Amino Acid utilities for epitope-based analysis.
Growing numbers of sensitised patients are requiring increasingly complex assessment of donor-recipient immunological compatibility as well as post-transplant monitoring. The LABScreen™ Single Antigen Supplement assay can be a simple yet effective part of your tool kit to decipher patterns of antibody reactivity with confidence, contributing to improved outcomes for your patients.
