Researchers are currently investigating the role of cytokine expression levels in diseases such as cancer, AIDS, and autoimmune diseases. Cytokines are crucial in cellular communication and are key elements in controlling the immune response. Research suggests that polymorphic variants of cytokine genes may be associated with acute and chronic transplant rejection.
