Combining automation with patented MolYsis™ technology, Micro-Dx™ is the first walk-away solution for human DNA removal and selective pathogen DNA extraction integrated with broad-range PCR-based species identification for daily clinical practice.
Requiring minimal hands-on time, the CE-IVD marked Micro-Dx™ enables the fast and precise culture-independent molecular diagnosis of pathogens by broad-range PCR and Sanger sequencing. The assay is based on a unique automated pathogen enrichment and DNA extraction protocol using the SelectNA™plus system. Eluted DNA is depleted of contaminating human DNA which enables highly sensitive detection via PCR or Real-Time PCR with the supplied DNA-free reagents.
The robotic extraction of DNA from a variety of specimens and the unbiased, broad-range identification of bacteria and fungi make Micro-Dx™ a valuable tool in the daily in-vitro diagnosis of pathogens.
Micro-Dx™ allows flexible diagnosis of 1-12 samples. Identification of pathogens by 16S & 18S broad-range PCR and Sanger sequencing analysis is possible within the same day. Culture-independent broad-range analysis of various sample types offers the possibility of a rapid diagnosis of etiologies of sepsis, endocarditis, meningitis, pneumonia, joint infection and other diseases. Species from more than 200 bacterial and 65 fungal genera can be identified by broad-range analysis. Also, difficult-to-culture organisms have been identified with Micro-Dx™, including Tropheryma whipplei, Finegoldia magna, Bacteroides fragilis and Ureaplasma urealyticum.
