We are pleased to introduce one of VH Bio’s newest team members, Tamsin Ludgate, who joined us in January 2022 as a Molecular Biology Technical Sales Specialist!
Hear from Tamsin about her role at VH Bio, background and a little interview about her interests and views:
Describe what your job entails:
My job is to provide a bespoke service to current and potential customers in the South-East region; identifying key products from our portfolio that meet their individual needs within the Molecular Biology field. I also provide ongoing support to our customers including training and technical support.
What is your career and/or educational background?
I spent the last few years working as Biomedical Scientist within NHS Diagnostic labs, originating in Clinical Biochemistry and moving towards Molecular Biology in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, performing several PCR methods in a busy hospital. Working in this department sparked my passion for Molecular Biology. I am also on track to complete a Msc in Biomedical Science at the start off 2022.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy going to watch musicals in the West End, but this has been limited in the pandemic so I’m hoping 2022 will be the year to cross some off my list! I love trying all kinds of food (as long as I’m not cooking!) so frequent restaurant visits are a must for me
Describe your perfect weekend?
A dog walk along the beach near where I live and then a trip to a country pub for lunch (perks of living in Suffolk).
What is your favourite film?
I like musicals such as Hamilton (you’ll always catch me singing along to soundtracks), but I also love Marvel Superhero films so completely different ends of the spectrum depending on my mood.
What has been keeping you busy during lockdown?
I got a Cockapoo puppy early in 2021 called Stan Lee who certainly keeps me busy! He is incredibly happy to be keeping my company when working at home. I also decided to partake in my flexible MSc whilst in lockdown in 2020 to keep my brain busy. I was incredibly lucky to have lots of friends to socialise and share a virtual drink with on Zoom every weekend.
If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I love Asian cuisine, so I’d probably go for a massive bowl of ramen.
If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring?
Suntan lotion so I don’t burn to a crisp!
A radio so I can sing along to pass the time.
A mojito to enjoy on the beach.
We’re delighted to have Tamsin on board at VH Bio and can’t wait to meet Stan Lee!
